Contracts, read on your side

Contrato Claro reads a contract and explains it in plain language: what each clause means, where the risks sit and what to ask before you sign. It is built for the moment you were about to sign a rental agreement you hadn't really read.

The service is in Portuguese and checks contracts against Brazilian law.

Why does it exist?

The problem

The contract decides who carries the risk. Most people sign it without reading it.

Contract language is written for lawyers, and most people don't have one on hand for a rental agreement or a service contract. So they skim, trust the other side and sign.

Contrato Claro gives them a reading of their own before that signature: every part scored, every risk explained, each point tied to the clause it comes from.

Before

Pages of legal language

Clauses on fines, deposits and renewal that few people read to the end.

After

A scored reading in minutes

What the contract commits you to, and what to question before you sign.

What it doesn't do

  • It gives no legal advice and doesn't replace a lawyer. It prepares you to decide, or to have a much better conversation with one.
  • It doesn't negotiate or change the contract.
  • It can miss a risk. It makes the document readable, and the judgement stays with you.

Short answers

Is this legal advice?

No. Contrato Claro explains what the document says, in plain language. For advice on what to do, you still want a lawyer. You'll just arrive knowing the right questions.

What happens to my contract after I upload it?

It is used to produce your explanation. It is not used to train models or to feed a public dataset. The details are in the product's own privacy terms.

What kinds of contract does it handle?

Everyday agreements, starting with rentals. Highly specialised documents deserve a specialist's eyes as well.

Have a process that ends in a document someone signs?
